Link event brings job seekers, employers together

Link-jobfairThe Ramada-Waukegan was bustling with activity on Tuesday during Senator Terry Link’s community job and resource fair. The event was co-hosted by Representative Rita Mayfield (D-Waukegan).

Job seekers and employers came to the event, which helped job seekers get on-the-spot job offers and critical feedback from potential employers. More than 70 employers attended at the fair, ranging from private companies such as Comcast to the US Army and state agencies such as the Department of Human Services and the Illinois State Police.

“I believe we were successful in our goal of connecting people who are actively seeking jobs to employers who are looking for qualified people to fill their current vacancies,” said Link, a Vernon Hills Democrat. “I spoke with many people who said the feedback they received during the fair was invaluable. I think events like this one go a long way in putting people in the area back to work.”
