police 111921DES PLAINES – As violence against law enforcement officers increases, State Senator Laura Murphy (D-Des Plaines) joined police chiefs and other public officials to call for change.

“There is a national trend of increased violence against law enforcement officers,” Murphy said. “The very people who put their lives on the line daily to protect us deserve to be protected.”

Villivalam, Silverstein to host children’s vaccine clinic this Friday

kids shots 111721­CHICAGO – State Senator Ram Villivalam (D-Chicago) and Alderperson Debra Silverstein partnering with the Rohingya Cultural Center, Swedish Covenant Hospital, ICNA Relief and the city of Chicago to offer a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic for children in the West Ridge area. The clinic will also offer booster shots to anyone who needs one.

“Getting vaccinated is the best way for us to protect our community’s public health and end the pandemic,” Villivalam said. “I encourage anyone with questions on the vaccine to join us to learn more and get their shot.”

idot map weather app 111621PLAINFIELD – To help people stay safe this winter season, State Senator Meg Loughran Cappel (D-Shorewood) is urging drivers to utilize Getting Around Illinois to preview road conditions before traveling.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is debuting an improved road conditions map this year, which can be viewed at www.GettingAroundIllinois.com.

“The winter months bring unpredictable and possibly dangerous road conditions,” Loughran Cappel said. “If weather forecasts are not optimal, please check this vital resource to help you and your family stay safe and prepared during your holiday travels this year.”

Stadelman: Illinois’ future in electric vehicle production looking bright with new law

electric vehicles 111621SPRINGFIELD – Backing his promise to expand electric vehicle production in both the Rockford area and state as a whole, State Senator Steve Stadelman (D-Rockford) championed the Reimagining Electric Vehicles in Illinois Act, which was signed into law Tuesday.

“This growing field indicates room for job growth in the electric vehicle market,” Stadelman said. “Illinois is working to encourage electric vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers to keep and bring their production facilities here. That will lead to good paying jobs in Northern Illinois and across the state.”
